Client Story: Mark Gillam's Second Chance
ElderLink client Mark Gillam is sleeping rough, and shares how a history of criminal offending has caught up to him in his senior years. Shared with consent.
We actively create opportunities for meaningful social interaction through friendly outreach, accessible community activities, and welfare checks, aiming to significantly reduce loneliness and strengthen community bonds among seniors.
We offer tangible assistance with essential needs, such as access to nutritious food parcels, help with transport for appointments or errands, and support with navigating digital tasks, making daily life more manageable.
We serve as a helpful resource, assisting seniors and their families in connecting with the necessary information, local services, and support networks available throughout the Marlborough region.
We champion positive, enriching connections between seniors and younger members of the community, primarily through promoting meaningful youth volunteering opportunities and shared activities.
