Our volunteers are the heart of what we're able to accomplish. If you're looking to give back to the region's over-65s, contribute to the community, and lend your time and skills in a meaningful, fulfilling way, there's a place for you with the ElderLink family.

We always welcome volunteers to help with our community produce garden, ensuring fresh food reaches people who need it. We also need friendly faces to staff our town office, providing information and support to those who drop in. Behind the scenes, we've been lucky to have fantastic volunteers step up to assist with digital management, promotional content, and event photography. Other crucial roles include produce hand harvesting and the delivery of food parcels to seniors' homes, offering a small act of kindness that can make a world of difference.

Volunteering with ElderLink isn't just about giving - it's about building connections and being part of a community that values care, respect, and inclusion.

Important Information

For 'front-facing' roles involving direct engagement with service recipients and their whanau, volunteers will need to consent to a police clearance process to ascertain suitability to work with vulnerable persons. However, roles requiring no direct engagement with service recipients and their families, such as community produce garden positions, are open to people looking for a 'second chance' opportunity - including those wishing to serve a community sentence in a productive way.
